LA QUINTA, Calif. (WJW) – “Home Improvement” actor Zachery Ty Bryan has been arrested for an alleged DUI.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office in California confirmed to USA TODAY that Bryan, 42, was arrested at about 2 a.m. Saturday after La Quinta Sheriff’s Station deputies conducted a traffic stop.
Bryan was driving a vehicle suspected of being involved in a traffic collision, the office said.
The deputies “observed indications of impairment” in Bryan, the sheriff said, arresting him for driving under the influence with prior offenses.
He was booked into a Riverside County jail and is also facing a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.
He was released on bail the same day as his arrest, with a court date set for April 23.
Bryan was most recently arrested in July 2023 on felony assault charges related to an alleged domestic incident.
He was also arrested in 2020 on charges of strangling his girlfriend, who is his current fiancée, Johnnie Faye Cartwright.
She spoke with US Weekly about his 2023 arrest.
“Trauma can bring struggles in many shapes and forms. It’s a horrible situation that’s going to be spun in so many ways. I’ve learned firsthand the truth will never align with what’s been put out there.”
Bryan played Tim Allen’s son Brad on “Home Improvement” from 1991 to 1999.
