Muhlenberg Co. Residents Lost Thousands to Home Improvement Scammer, Sheriff Says

Authorities in Muhlenberg County are reminding area residents to use reputable, licensed contractors for home improvement projects after they say a scammer falsely offering services made off with thousands of dollars.

According to the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Michael T. McKiernan of Logan County has been falsely offering sales and installation of heating and air conditioning equipment.

The sheriff’s office says there are currently two separate cases involving McKiernan in Muhlenberg County that have resulted in a loss of over $6,000 from local residents.

MCSO says McKiernan has active arrest warrants from Muhlenberg County and other surrounding counties.

Anyone with information on McKiernan’s whereabouts is being asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 270-338-3345 or Muhlenberg County Central Dispatch at 270-338-2000.
