    Fort Worth finds money for 50 meter Forest Park Pool

    After public backlash to a previous design, Fort Worth’s Forest Park pool we be built to the desired 50 meter length. Harrison Mantas hmantas@star-telegram.com Fort Worth’s new Forest Park Pool will keep its eight lane and 50-meter design after residents objected to an earlier plan that would have reduced the pool to four lanes and 25 meters. At a September meeting, several residents expressed their frustration with the 25-meter design saying it deprived the public of an Olympic-style swimming pool. That design also limited the depth of the pool to 4.45 feet, which would make it impossible to teach children

    Upper Arlington community center designers narrow focus ahead of Feb. 17 unveil

    Designers for Upper Arlington’s first community center expect to unveil final plans for the facility in February after they work through the configuration of parking and the overall height of the building. After collecting public feedback and working with city officials since August, representatives from MSA Sport are closing in on the design of a 155,300-square-foot facility that will house a 95,300-square-foot community center. The firm has devised two designs within those dimensions.     HUMPHREY — Humphrey is getting a new swimming pool. There were 225 yes votes for the special election bond issue, and 114 voted no. Platte County Election Commissioner Connie Sebourn reported the unofficial results Tuesday evening.     MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — During a City Council Committee-of-the Whole meeting Monday (Nov. 8), council members heard about the latest changes in plans for the city’s anticipated new community center/swimming pool.
