4 Kids’ Bedroom Trends You’ll See Everywhere in 2022

Kids’ bedrooms deserve as much attention as any other room in your home. If you want to create a gorgeous space far from the clichés, new research has revealed the top trends for 2022 for children’s bedrooms to inspire a child-friendly makeover.

‘Regardless of your age, it’s important that you love your bedroom’s interior,’ say the Happy Linen Company. ‘The way a bedroom looks can completely transform the way you feel in it, from the impact it has on your mood to how well you sleep in it. For children, these two factors couldn’t be more important, which is why it’s essential to create a bedroom that they want to be in.’

Looking for some inspiration? Take a look at 2022’s top trends…

1. Bring the outdoors in

In 2022, parents are predicted to take inspiration from the great outdoors to create a bright and engaging bedroom for their children. According to the Happy Linen Company, searches for ‘safari crib bedding’ have increased by a whopping 100 per cent over the past 12 months, with ‘farm animal bedding’ also rising by 50 per cent.

‘The educational benefits of this trend are plentiful as a bedroom that incorporates animals into its interior design will inspire stories and encourage young children to expand their vocabulary in those early stages of speech development,’ say Happy Linen Company.

      2. Interactive interiors

Designing a fun and functional kids’ bedroom is key to creating their own little sanctuary. Another key trend to have on your radar for 2022 is interactive interiors, such as glow in the dark bedding they can enjoy when the lights go down.

Research by the Happy Linen Company reported a 200 per cent increase in glow in the dark solar bedding, with studies finding that it can act as a stress reliever and provide comfort for children who struggle to sleep in the dark.

Looking for eco-friendly ways to decorate children’s bedrooms? As well as choosing second-hand items where possible, 2022 will see many parents opt for accessories with dual purposes.

‘Whether it’s because parents are shopping with sustainability in mind or they’re trying to make their pennies stretch further, interior accessories that are reversible or have dual purposes are a must-have for 2022,’ Happy Linen Company explain.

The final trend for 2022 is all about combining learning with play. When designing a child’s bedroom, consider purchasing educational bedroom accessories. According to the Happy Linen Company, educational bedding is set to surge throughout 2022 thanks to the rise of home schooling.

‘Whether they are just starting to build up their vocabulary or are forming their budding academic passions, an interior that encourages children to discover more and talk about these interests is a fantastic way to make learning fun and immersive.’
